Flute
Flutes are the second highest in the woodwind family. Made of metal or wood, they are a piece of pipe and use a key system to be played. By blowing over the hole at the end (the mouthpiece), a sound is made by the vibration of air - almost like blowing over a bottle.
They are held horizontally and are at concert pitch. |
